About Rasan
With over 14 years of industry experience, Rasan Samarasinghe brings a rare blend of academic depth, real-world software engineering practice, and project leadership to every session he delivers. His journey spans roles as a lecturer, software engineer, product innovator, and project manager, giving him a 360-degree view of the tech landscape.
At his core, Rasan is a passionate educator deeply committed to truth, clarity, and impactful knowledge sharing. He believes in learning with purpose and teaching with integrity, which is what inspired the founding of Veritas Tech.
Academic Excellence
Rasan holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Bedfordshire, UK graduating with top academic honors and receiving the Best Performing Student Award in 2016. His academic foundations are further rooted in his early achievements, including an Island Rank 6 in the 1998 Grade 5 Scholarship Exam, which demonstrates his academic excellence and enthusiasm since childhood.

Rasan is an active contributor to Sri Lanka’s tech ecosystem, having founded and led several impactful community platforms:
- ITPro – A tech-focused career platform aimed at bridging the gap between job seekers and recruiters in the IT industry.
- Wegaspace – One of Sri Lanka’s earliest mobile web communities, launched in 2007, which connected over 12,000 members.
- Alertbox – A modern online community forum dedicated to IT and software professionals in Sri Lanka.
These initiatives reflect his ongoing commitment to building bridges, fostering collaboration, and empowering tech talent.
Rasan’s passion for innovation extends into electronics, hardware development and audio software. One of his proudest projects is the WEGA100 Stereo Integrated Amplifier, a custom-designed audio system that demonstrates his skill in electronic product design. Complementing this is GrooveBox, his audio enhancement software that elevates sound quality through intelligent processing, demonstrating his versatile skills across both hardware and software audio solutions.
